Lyn Nagel has been the Choral Director of Holy Cross High School in Waterbury, CT for the past two years. She directs all of the vocal groups, including the Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, Girls Jazz and Pop Choir, and Crosstones. Before Holy Cross High School, Ms. Nagel taught music for various elementary and middle schools including St. Ann's School in Bridgeport and St. Rose of Lima School in Newtown. She has been employed as a private voice and piano instructor at The Renaissance Center in Woodbury for the past 10 years. This is her first year with the Connecticut Master Chorale, but she has been singing locally with The Waterbury Chorale and the St. Rose of Lima Church Choir for the past seven years.

Along with her teaching background, Ms. Nagel is a member of the Actor's Equity Association and the Screen Actors' Guild, having performed on Broadway, the silver screen, and television. She made her Broadway Debut in the Tony Award-Winning Revival of Carousel at the age of 10, and she has been professionally performing ever since. Holy Cross High School Girls Choir

The Girls Jazz and Pop Choir, under the direction of Lyn Nagel, is an all-female singing group whose members are selected by audition. This year, the group has 15 members and the grades range from sophomore through senior. The Girls Choir rehearses on most Thursday evenings from 4:30 to 5:30 PM and performs multiple songs in all five concert performances that Holy Cross High School presents each year. Last year, the Holy Cross Girls Choir participated in the Great East Music Festival and Adjudication at Six Flags New England, where they received a gold medal for their performance of two choral songs. They will be participating in the Great East Festival again this year, and hope to match that performance. Just some of the music genres that the Girls Choir performs include: classical, pop, jazz, doo-wop, contemporary, seasonal, and musical theater.
